Petition the TBRC & Governor
We, the undersigned, call on the Taxation and Budget Reform Committee to cease consideration of the "tax swap" that would result in the largest tax increase in our state's history. This plan, as proposed, is ill-conceived and dangerous.

It's time for real reform.
Increase the public accountability of the commission
The commission's reckless actions in supporting this tax swap plan while rebuffing attempts to identify and disclose its potentially dire consequences are unacceptable, and we demand greater accountability. The commission should provide its full cooperation to the Senate Finance and Tax Committee in its attempts to discover the true impact of this or any proceeding action.
Hold education harmless
The commission should provide detailed recommendations on how to offset the revenue lost from elimination of the Required Local Effort - including full disclosure of any tax increases or spending cuts necessary. This funding is vital to our education system and must be kept intact
